The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) participated in Hace 2023 in collaboration with the Egyptian Chefs Association. Hace Hotel Expo 2023 was held from November 13 to 15 at the Cairo International Convention Center.
The exhibition included a Food Hub for specialized presentations and panel discussions about modern culinary arts and innovations, food waste and sustainability. USMEF Representative in Egypt, Lina Kanaan presented the U.S. beef production practices, discussed meat quality grading, inspection and safety, and highlighted the different cattle breeds, the effect of grain feeding on marbling, the diversity of U.S. beef products and its culinary applications.
Hace 2023 included a "Perfect Steak Competition" sponsored by USMEF where 10 chefs representing five star hotels and restaurants demonstrated their skills in cooking U.S. beef striploin steak. A judging panel of expert chefs evaluated each of the contestants’ dishes to select the winners and announce results during the “Perfect Steak” Award Ceremony.
