On Friday, May 22, 2020, the U.S. Meat Export Federation teamed up with highly talented Executive Chef Youssef Akiki and Mission Village to kick off a charity initiative reaching out to Lebanese villagers during lockdown. In Hrajel, one of Lebanon’s mountainous villages, Chef Youssef, with his love for nature, and passion for cooking from the simplicity of his garden, prepared around 120 dishes of shredded U.S. beef brisket and oriental rice mix. The healthy lunch meals were distributed to families in need with the collaboration of Mission Village which is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that takes care of disadvantaged people.
