Ingredients:
• 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
• ⅔ cup milk
• ¼ cup water
• 4 U.S. beef Prime Rib steaks
• 2 green onion tops, sliced
• 1 small red sweet pepper bell, sliced lengthwise
• 1 tbsp. olive oil
• ½ tsp. basil leaves, chopped
• ½ tsp. cornstarch
• ¼ tsp. black pepper
• Salt to taste
• Crusty bread slices to serve
• Celery sprigs to garnish
Preparation:
Rub U.S. prime rib steaks with basil, pepper and salt. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry steaks on both sides until brown or to desired doneness. Transfer steaks into warm plates and keep warm.
In same skillet, stir in mushrooms, green onion tops and sweet peppers. Season with salt and cook, stirring frequently, until vegetables are tender.
In a small bowl, whisk milk with cornstarch and water. Pour over mushroom mixture and cook until sauce thickens.
Spoon mushroom gravy beside the steaks and serve with crusty bread slices.
Garnish with celery sprigs.
