A team of trade professionals from Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt participated in the Middle East Beef 101 Program, organized by the U.S. Meat Export Federation. The event aimed to educate key regional players on the quality, production, and heritage of U.S. beef.
The trip began in Austin, Texas, where the team toured flagship grocery retailers such as Whole Foods and Central Market, and enjoyed Texas-style steakhouse dinners. They visited iconic BBQ joints including Southside Market and Stiles Switch BBQ, immersing themselves in local beef culture.
The team then traveled to Amarillo, visiting key segments of the beef supply chain—Mc6 Cattle Feeders (feedlot tour), LIT Ranch (stocker and backgrounding operation), and the Beef 101 workshop at West Texas A&M University. Here, they engaged in hands-on learning about meat science, grading, and carcass fabrication.
The experience concluded with a farewell dinner at the legendary Big Texan Steak Ranch, wrapping up a comprehensive, educational, and flavorful journey through the U.S. beef industry.
